a brief history . . .

With the grace of Shree Jalaram Bapa the school was originally started by Mrs. Prafullaben Modi in April 1990 from St. Gabriel Church on Narborough Road Leicester. There were only 25 pupils supported by dedicated parents and four teachers, Mr. Mandalia, Mrs. Ninaben Kotecha, Mrs. Sardaben Pandya and Mrs. Bhaktiben Naik.

JBVUK is a nationally recognised gujarati school based in leicester, the school is on Saturday mornings at Leicester College Bede Island campus for children aged 5½ years and over. The school hours are 10.00am to 1.00pm. Feel free to drop us a line.

We also have an extensive with over 3000 books! for all ages and is free to all students. Times on Saturday are 09:30am to 11:45am - Parents are kindly requested to adhere to these times. All children for the class attending the library must be dropped off at the Library and collected from there as well at the end of the session.

Classes start at 09:30. Assembly between 11:15am - 11:45am

All parents are welcome to attend the assembly in the main hall and also participate after prior arrangement with the head teacher.

The fees for current academic year will be £15.00 per term or £40 per annum. Prompt payment of school fees is greatly appreciated. It would save a lot of administration time and expense if parents would endeavour to pay the full annual fee. However, if for any reason it is not practical then please feel free to approach your child’s teacher.

Jalaram Bal Vikas are pleased to continue the ‘A’ level course from 09/09/2006. The fee for the course is set at £100 per annum plus examination fees (please note this is heavily subsidised). Parents are most welcome to enrol for this course.
